My Protector

My Protector

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

In dreams she comes.

"

My Protector

I once suckled upon those

succulent milky white breasts,

bursting full of life's

comforting nutrients.

There were no troubles,

there were no foes,

and I never went hungry.

I so enjoyed the long, long

summers of childhood

beneath the watchful eyes

of such nurturing by mother nature.

Now she comes to me as I sleep,

penetrates the place where

I hide and all my nightmares

mingle in monochromic malevolence.

She wafts in weightless, wonder,

wandering upon the night-time breezes

of the June moon's soft and silky smile.

And leaning over my bed,

an angel with fulsome hips,

she plants perfect kisses on my forehead.

"Rest gently dear son,

do not be troubled,

for I am still here

watching over you"

she whispers,

as my lips gratefully accept

her plentiful n*****s

once more.

Hmmm.....Not sure I like the idea of a son suckling at his mother's breasts in dreams. Makes me happy I bottle fed my son. Still, there is something endearing about a son needing the comfort of his mother no matter how old he is. I liked the alliteration in this poem, John. Lydi**

Ah tis but metaphor Lydi and yes the comfort of a mother is like nothing else. Thank you.
Another little Scottish blend of a gem John. I can't remember being breast fed! That's probably why I'm a leg man and it probably doesn't help when I was bottle fed too!! Nice music too!

never quite sure we lost that need for her...mine too, is passed...and yet she always seems to be present---that comforting word, that haunting feeling of her near.

Indeed haunting and comforting Jacob. Many thanks.
Is there anyone better to have on your side? My mom and I were the best of friends, and her influence and love will always be with me. It's hard to still feel the need for her, no matter how many years take me further away from her.

Beautiful words and music, John!
