Searching

Searching

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

We seek the answers where there are often none!

"

Searching

I stumbled through

the forest of words

trying to find

love's reason.

Only to discover

a lexicon of lies.

I wandered the aisles

of life's overstocked library

searching for the satanic secrets

held in the verses of poets.

Only to find a final demand

for overdue books.

And so,

definition still eluding me,

I stumbled

and fell again,

headlong

into the abyss.

Wow again something which most of us can relate to...A futile search.Yet,there remains an evergrowing desire within us to seek answers to some questionsand carry on that search forever...GOod one:)
May be the answer's lurking somewhere in that corner where we never bothered to look:D

This made me think of how maybe we look for answers with the preconceived idea that we will not find any.
Very thought provoking..

Maybe it is a familiar sentiment... you are welcome!
Ah, but if we found all the answers, what would be left to discover? What would inspire us to go on another adventure? I enjoyed the wordplay in this one. "lexicon of lies" "satanic secrets"....great alliteration. Lydi**
