Isatis TinctoriaA Poem by John Alexander McFadyenIsatis Tinctoria Streaked tear tainted flesh, woad stains still fresh as the clearances and imperial invasions pre-empted an empire's expansion. An army and navy that engulfed a world in its pink as it sought it's own salvation. And we the merest of nations were met with an iron fist, and a deep pocket. Neighbours so unequal as to be stripped of all our notions of brotherhood, of sainthood, of freedom.
