Addiction wracks me,

Caustic craving flows through veins

I need cold turkey.

Many thanks
and there are numerous things to get hooked on, cigarettes, drugs, love...

and then we just want it all to stop...addiction can leave us physically, mentally and emotionally totaled...and there is no insurance to cover the damage.
