End of Life Song

End of Life Song

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Aging is not maturing but drying up!

"

The walls are closing in

as someone steals the hours

from the day,

the weeks from the months

and the months from the years.

This truncated existence,

this condensed version

of life,

accelerates as it drags me

kicking and screaming

to the edge of the abyss.

Life that once had the luxury

of years

is now compressed into

moments.

Fleeting ones at that,

as I slide inevitably

towards the slippery edge.

I think all of us who have reached a certain age, feel the pressure of time running out. Instead of worrying about it though, surely it is a wake up call not to waste it. Well penned John.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
