Embers In A Bed Of Confusion.

Embers In A Bed Of Confusion.

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

A challenge by Kira.

"

Even in devotion's death,

when hope deserts us

and we know the truth

of the poisoned parting

of the ways.

Even when we accept that demise,

we still hold fast to a kernel

of emotion,

a deep rooted affection,

a broken, jagged fragment

of how we felt

when romance

was burning in our hearts,

and we were sure

that love would simply

last forever.

Never stamp on the embers says I. You never know what the future holds. Never say never. Liked this very much, speaks a great deal about relationships. Well penned John.

Thank you very much Chris and wise words not to stir those embers!
Strength and confusion leading us to nowhere. Cling to faith to see if hope truly exists. I really like this. There is a clear depth. It checks all the emotional boxes.

I love this John...so glad you took the challenge! Your wise words flow with lyrical candor...I think it is that kernel of affection we wish will last long after the fire dies...it feels cold when that lil' coal is no longer there...:)

Indeed so Kira and thanks for the inspiration. Keep enjoying that beach, lucky gal!
Well, disillusionment is indeed one b***h. But this is in truth what we often do, holding on to that last ember of affection. Of course, thirty years later we will look back and wonder what was wrong with us. Told with great feeling.

Sad and beautiful mixed with the straight reality of love lost, embers burning softly in the memory of it all. Very deep and descriptive sir John.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
