The Shrew and the Camel

The Shrew and the Camel

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

More nonsense.

"

A camel and a shrew were out walking one day,

each intent to go on their own separate ways.

They met at wadi under a blanket of stars,

stopped at the same time and looked up to Mars.

Says the shrew to the camel, quite deep in thought,

"I am not saying we should, but perhaps that we ought,

to travel due West until we run right out of sand

and if you agree, we can walk hand in hand."

The camel considered, he thought long and hard,

he looked at the shrew and the charms that she had,

then he sang her a love song, he wrote under the moon;

so touched was the shrew, she soon started to swoon.

The camel he caught her, breaking her fall,

he stooped to one knee, she was terribly small,

he stared into her eyes and suddenly said,

"This, Dearest shrew, just came into my head,

let's traverse this dry desert and then take a dhow

Let's do it quickly, let's do it now;

we'll sail, man and wife, up the Caspian sea

we'll stop in the middle and there we'll take tea.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
