On The Beach

On The Beach

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

Inspired by Kira's photography.

"

She sits,

ankles crossed,

staring out to sea.

The warmth of the sun on her face

sooths her pain and grief.

She wriggles her feet

in the warm sand, feeling the grains

trickle between her toes.

Sometimes she wishes she could burrow down,

deep into the earth and rest in it's womb.

The breeze softens the heat in the bay

like the breath of a kiss on her cheek,

and her heart is heaped with hope,

even in this dark day

of knowing the death of a child.

The sound of the waves

lapping gently at the shore

is like a love song on repeat,

and as she stares across the ocean

the horizon seems to beckon her,

softly call her,

to her lover's arms.

About
Well, have a long and complicated story and started it as an autobiography on Bebo but got writer's block/memory fogging. People liked it though and kept asking for the next chapter! fools.. more..
