Zappa [Ship Arriving Too Late to Save a Drowning Witch]

Zappa [Ship Arriving Too Late to Save a Drowning Witch]

A Poem by John Alexander McFadyen
"

The eighties recalled in a haze! A friend of mine, Ian Rickard, had this album and I thought it qualified for the quirkiest album name of all time.

"

Oak wood

strong and firm

shores up that

ship arriving

too late to save

that drowning witch.

Timbers hewn and shaped

into a hull

that sang and prayed

in the Utility Muffin Research Kitchen

where art was pursued, unabashed.

"Gag me with a spoon!"

wrote Moon Unit

as she fawned for

a warlock father,

fell to his charisma.

Ebzen Sauce is in the mix

as all boxes are crushed

and the valley girl

returns to the strip.
