Don't Wake Me

Don't Wake Me

A Poem by Dara

I see shadows dance across the room

as I lay quietly in my bed.

My body aches to feel his touch

forming visions in my head.

I want him lying next to me

so strong, lean, and tan.

I take deep breaths then count to three

and he appears again.

My love once real has gone away,

I still feel his presence looming.

I need to hold him in my sleep

don’t wake me from my dreaming.

Merveilleux!
Nicely formed and well dressed, dear poet. If only in dreams we can find them again, wake us not.
