right at the surface

right at the surface

A Poem by Richard

THIS was such a hiccup in my life

a place like any other whispered long and slow

like a day at the beach

when i was curious

now as i look back now, you look at me like ghosts can, do i look as same as before

and night just when you feel alone like the moon

and hopeful like the dogs

you sneeze a poor dust of dreams but you're in no way poor where it counts

and leave a portal on my arm and i enter where it opens

to a simpler time where

things were simpler, they felt much simpler

a dimple in your cheek

is such a pool for tears i don't have to spell out

how i made you

at a time when i was lost

a true beginning something new to smile for like your train

our love can hop on

listen in between us and go to sleep now

knowing

knowing

and knowing

and knowing

but anyway

it's just like them

days.
