How Tarzan Met Jane or Vice Versa

How Tarzan Met Jane or Vice Versa

A Poem by Patches I'm not so new anymore.

Tarzan & Jane

Tarzan was strolling through

the jungle one day, when much to his dismay

he stepped barefooted

On a shard of pottery.

Not far from there he

spotted a plane and near the plane

Was a- not-so-plain

Jane

Sunning herself by a jungle pool

Her purple bikini

she had laid aside leaving

Tarzan staring goggled eyed!

Jane’s forehead was somewhat furrowed

as she tried to make sense of a story

By Edgar Rice Burroughs.

Who was a famous author in his day

that wrote science fiction and fantasy…

Stories of a man raised by apes

Who had many adventures

and narrow escapes

helping the natives of the land

Triumph over many a bad man.

In the story Jane was reading

The hero was called Tarzan

And Edgar had written

that he was a “man’s man!”

Jane, she sighed and turned the page

then looking up caught

the Ape man’s gaze she blushed

then ran like a bird flushed

Straight into the jungle pool,

she caught a glimpse of the man’s

wide smile. Then his look froze,

horror style.

For swimming toward her

Was a crocodile!

He drew forth his

long bladed knife

Given to him by a native’s wife.

With that knife Jane’s life was saved

Because it had been fashioned and

Expertly made with the steel of a lawn mower blade!
