A Paradise of Earthly Delight by the Traveling TroubadourA Poem by Patches I'm not so new anymore. For Ma Donna* was the pen bit and this poem writ in the free troubadour style I prithee my lady enjoys it for it comes from the heart.I feel that this day bringth a renewal of the love, nay rather a strengthening of love that I have built over the years for ma donna, my belov-ed.
Often in the past I have sung of my desire, of my love for ma donna. What is the cause of these stronger, more passionate feelings? It is her grace that brightens my day.
It is because of her that my heart trembles with joy I count her as friend, as confident from no secrets are kept; for to be less that truly truthful with her would be to admit that I do not fully trust her as one shouldst trust a soul-mate Ma donna when I gaze into thine eyes I see hope for joys yet to be realized----
secret longings yet to be satisfied... Yet there may be future trials to be overcome before we two are allowed to experience the true and everlasting bliss that Le Bon Dieu has in store for us.
Thus far He has decreed that no kiss or caress be allowed us. Yet He does not forbid thoughts of such rewards being entertained. It is proper I suppose that restraint be employed before we indulge in such sweet behavior. And not act the buffoon who allows carnal appitite to overcome the true love engendered by fin amour.**
Thus destroying the paradise of Earthly Delight that Le Bon Dieu in His wisdom and goodness hast prepaired for two shuch as we that dare to love the other beyond the power of Love.
*Ma Donna= My Lady ** literally fine love or love of the belov-ed for herself only and not as an object of concupiscence was/is the what the Troubadours were attempting to bring about or what they aspired to.
