Together Again

Together Again

A Poem by P.M. Fox

His long long wait
For her will end
When her heart stops beating
And they can meet again.

They will smile and hug
After many years apart
And together they will mend
Their damaged broken hearts

So when I said goodbye
I did lose my friend
But knowing they are together
Helps me in the end.

Bah! It all sounds nice, but what does it mean? So many questions, so little answers.

What is the relationship between to two people the persona is talking about? Lovers? Family?

Why does the persona even care?

Whose "sacrifice" is it, and what makes it a "sacrifice" (and the idea of a "sacrifice" doesn't even come from the poem at all, but only from the "tag")?

Like I said, it all sounds nice - rhymes are decent and some discernible images - but what's the point? It isn't enough to just "sense" these feelings, as MrKnowAll put it; I want to know why I as the reader should feel anything for the persona and the two others.

70, but don't stop here.

The poem is sad one one hand and happy on the other. There is a sense of finality , accomplishment, and also lose and sadness. But in the end, it sums up to a positive energy, on both sides.

thank you for sharing!
