The Blind

The Blind

A Poem by Steel Magnolia

The Blind

Its veil had long since
revealed its secrets
Still - she peers through
the tear of the blind
ever hopeful
that today
he will tender the maiden’s hair
and cup dandelions
in the palm of his hand.

I like the hopeful tone of this poem; waiting and watching in the hope that her desired will covet her lovingly as a husband should to his wife. It's a beautiful hope to have and despairing to wait patiently for. A lovely poem.
