Hero or fool

Hero or fool

A Poem by Paul Nolan
"

A soldiers troubled mind in the mist of war.

"

Hero or fool

Do I question their behest or trust their reasons?

I still must go and carry out their will.

Do I serve my soul by questioning the regime or bring unnecessary confusion to my troubled mind?

I still must go and carry out their will.

Do I see brothers in arms, family & friend or a false sense of unity to make death more sweet?

I still must go and carry out their will.

Am I a hero or a fool? Destined for greatness or a victim of my very own existence.

I still must go and carry out their will.
