![]() A Dream of AwakeningA Poem by Paul Michael Kelly![]() When we dream, we invite the opportunity to listen in a deeper way, to that which is mostly unheard. Can we bring what we've heard in to our waking lives?![]()
Stand by my door whilst I sleep Then wake me from my rest Clothe me in a silken gown And lead me out the door
I will follow, sleepwalking As you guide my way Outside to the garden of midnight Where our journey shall continue
Walk with me at my side And whisper words of beauty and peace As you take me through a winding path of cobbled stones With sweet smelling roses at our side
Guide me up to the center hill There may we stop and listen For in the distance sounds an ancient echo That has never ceased to call
Lay me down upon the soft grass And we shall hear what were longing for A sign from a long forgotten time And a promise for our future
We hear it each night whilst we sleep But forget it upon daybreak It lives in us like a never-ending dream An echo of a memory, longing to awake. © 2025 Paul Michael KellyFeatured Review
