Always with me

this is all about losing somebody close to you, only to realise they are always with you as long as the memories are still there... To live in hearts you leave behind is to never die ...

Today i skimmed a stone,
That bounced on every ripple of the sea.
Today i stood alone,
With only my shadow as company.
Footsteps faded on the sand,
Where we once stood,
You and me,
Close together,
Hand in hand.

The sun shone bright,
Reflecting off the water
White sea horses roamed,
They were my roaming soldiers.
My boulders,
My pawns,
My shoulder to cry upon,
Galloping guardians protecting me,
From the days I'm yet to see.

My vision, hazed by the light,
As i watched, waiting hastily.
Until the day turned into night,
Then all was clear for me to see.

You were always by my side,
Never was i alone,
Forever standing next to me,
Together we skimmed our stone.
