Solitude

Solitude

A Poem by Paul
"

Just written today. All about dreams and the promise of good fortune.

"
Unforgettable are the days of solitude and bliss,
Our own heaven awaits through a nubilous mist,
Deep in our souls, lies forever an imaginary place,
Where there is no sorrow, or troubles to be faced,
How enchanting it sounds, like nothing you have heard,
Soaring across a radiant blue sky, as free as a bird,
A picture of a thousand words, that is kept in plain sight,
A grand opening door, a million chances to excite,
Take me to this world, where only the sun will beam,
Is there anything like it, or is it just a conjure of a lonely man's dreams.

Hi Paul. You were kind enough to comment on my work so I've been browsing a few of your poems. I think this is my favourite, and I think it's because you are less required to adhere to a structure and meter than in your other poems, which are mainly 4 line verses. In this case you have more expressive freedom. Your descriptions and phrasing feel more convincing, at least to me. 'The conjure of a lonely man's dreams' sounds great. Yes I know it messes up the meter, but it's a strong line - very strong. I'd love to see what might emerge if you really loosen the shackles of rhyme and meter and structure and just write what your heart / mind sees. Don't get me wrong, I've enjoyed the poems, but I think you have more to offer, which I see a glimpse of here!

Best regards
Nigel

We used the term 'solitude'time and again....but its just seems to me a state of mind that we can never attend!with so many thoughts passing across...you best described this fairyland though!
