13th Psalm

13th Psalm

A Poem by Pax Analog
"

BESIDES BEING A LYRIC, THIS IS ALSO A FULL SONG BY ME ON THIS SITE, IN THE PLAYLIST.COM PLAYER, ON MY PROFILE PG. ALONG WITH 4 OTHERS. Noting this "quietly" with the other lyric/songs was frequently overlooked, so maybe this "louder" notice will work. ;-)

"

Jesus Jason spread the news

dead or risen, fresh from dues

Superstition, do or die

script the text that does not lie

Take it to the other side

live your moment free and wide

Check your levels, check your fate

sing the songs of love and hate

Words to live by flow through mind

born of Spirit, clear unsigned

Scroll your meaning line by line

springing from your sacred spine

Take it to the other side. . .

I mount the sky of the morn

embrace the dark Unborn

I am the eye ("I") of the storm

rocking the sleepwalk norm

Bounty of forgetfulness

who's the host and who the guest?

Ardently from dusk till dawn

praise the Ground you walk upon

Take it to the other side. . .

I mount the sky of the morn. . .

"Bounty of forgetfulness

I listened to the song first and then came to read the piece. Then I opened up a second window so I could do both at the same time. I'm not going to compare your styles with artists/groups that I know, but your lyrics and style is definitely your own! Great perspective, great song!

The third stanza of this piece is amazing, and I love the notion of "springing from His sacred spine." The words are evocative and the imagery outstanding. You have graced us with your unique gift --- the ability not only to write but to put your words to music. Thankfully, your voice is well-suited for this purpose.

W. H. Auden stated, "One demands two things of a poem. Firstly, it must be a well-made verbal object that does honor to the language in which it is written. Secondly, it must say something significant about a reality common to us all, but perceived from a unique perspective. What the poet says has never been said before, but, once he has said it, his readers recognize its validity for themselves."

Your use of language in poetry in song is an event unto itself. As mentioned previously, you remind me of Leonard Cohen, who once said: "Poetry is just the evidence of life. If your life is burning well, poetry is just the ash."

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust.

Great lyric! You are not only a poet but a poet of song! We need more of your kind.

This is the best piece I've read all day. I follow the Psalms. I have 91 tattoed to me.
You ask important questions regarding the battle of life and our choices.
Nice flow.

This is our passion, of course:
"Check your levels, check your fate
sing the songs of love and hate"

O!
This is like the answer to the 13th psalm....take it in ur own hands and deal with it but still believe in the One u had turned to at first....hmmmm....

and yes....ur rock voice is really good...especially when deep....i like in the song that the bass guitar was the guide for the entire song with the occasional lead guitar.....

x,
O!
