A Painful Truth

A Painful Truth

A Poem by Aram Alexander
"

I tried to capture the emotions felt when one realizes the betrayal at the hands of an unfaithful lover

"
I am headed for a free-fall,
but I don't want a parachute.
I want to hit the ground
and shatter like your deceit
in the face of perfect clarity.

The truth is a hard pill to swallow
but I taste the lies on your lips.
Bittersweet and full of emptiness,
your kiss tells me the truth.
