Death and Hope

My first Christian Poem.

People fight and people die

Every second of every day

They’re buried deep into the ground

And the ground is where they'll stay

People die and nobody cares

Going on with their everyday life

They ignore all the bad and ugly of the world

And all the pain, deceit, and strife

This is the way the world goes round

All things end up dry and dead

The only hope seems far away

Above the clouds, stars, and our heads

The hope that takes the form of a being

Who seems so far away

The people whose hearts he's tried to win

To save he's found a way

So maybe we don't have to be of this world

Where lies and deceit are shown

Maybe we can turn to our heavenly hope

If faith is all we own

Hmm this is pretty good for your first try at this type of poem. To a lot of people life does seem like how you described it in the first part of your poem, because that is what this life is like at the moment. So many don't have the hope or know much of it, which is sad. I think with some practice you could write a better one but it isn't bad it's still good.

i think that this is great for a first piece of writing as it isn't overly long, is snappy, flows well and captures a lot of people with what its about. good job!! :)
