Letter to my grandmother

Letter to my grandmother

A Poem by Pennywriter

Letter to my grandmother

Be it as it is,

You left us

Once upon

A tragic evening.

I was not there

To see you

Go away,

I may never

See the coffin.

But,

Your feisty spirit

Will linger

In our minds,

For friends

Or estranged acquaintances,

Are not about

To forget you.

I cannot cry,

For I have

Seen no coffin.

Do not

Judge by the eyes,

But by

My saddened heart.

Signed:

S.Marwah

Hey Mr. Penny I have always been a time delay mourner, part of that (I think) is because I feel the presence of people long after they have gone. But out of the blue I will see something, smell something or hear something that triggers them in my subconscious mind and boom the emotions come flooding back:/ A casket a monument or an effigy they have no meaning but an embrace a smile and warm touch memory those are the true monuments my friend
