Easy Dream

Easy Dream

A Poem by Perdition

The walls dripped

Chips and scars of broken brick tumbling to my language…

      Covered with unexplored emotion

Just like us

The lost city of some lone carpenter’s design

Hidden in the thin divide

The Tao of each nail whistling a desolate song

Hinge sweat still holding back the wolves

The angles forming puzzles of solitude

and it all seems to die in a hand of elsewhere

as elsewhere is an engine of time

A string

Hanging from the ears of god,

We form the sound of dark turned roads

Night after life

But these walls between us breathe

And we -

The mice of cheese and

Scholars of halls and glass-rimmed philosophies

hope and die

for an easy dream.

Most appreciated...on my way~
tumbling to my broken language ... haunting lyric my friend. Love the weave of mysticism and carpentry. Zen of handiwork. No problem picturing you sitting on a rough-hewn bench, ear cocked to the winds around you, straining to hear the whisper of spirits.

Great metaphor comparing us as humans to tunnels roads and buildings. Or did I get that wrong
Never mind it’s the reader who must interpret the writers work in the end
I found the tunnels to be our brain all interwoven with roads
The house n fading bricks our body aging
And the philosopher or designer God
Well done 👍

The Tao of the nail really got to me. As did the rest of this rich and fine poem. Clever and soulful.

Much appreciated Ken! And in all seriousness “Cheeky” will ALWAYS find a home here. Cheers!!
Excellent read and write. You left without something clever to say. Yet you are a master of words and images.

With love,

A very good tapestry of linguistic muse! You notice things, nuance, the witness self. Very well demonstrated this craft...

'The lost city of some lone carpenter’s design .. Hidden in the thin divide.. '

Maybe easy dreams aren't supposed to be found? Perhaps that's what fires the seekers into adventuring on - whether awake or lost in dreams, turning the hours light and dark. Never yet understood why people work so hard to find answers when all the time they're forgetting to question anything and all that's about, above! 'And it all seems to die in a hand of elsewhere | As elsewhere is an engine of time .. ' and thereby hangs string.. silence.. life and death .. perhaps.

But you use your wonderful language, discreetly argue your views of.. anything, everything and that results in writing that could mould people's thoughts into Thoughts.. or alternatively, drive them crazy trying to emulate you. Why ' Die for an easy dream' when it might be so unworthy of consideration.
