Smiles never age

Smiles never age

When i am feeling low
Thoughts of your smile
Shine light to the abyss
Wings although fragile
Bring me back to the surface
I remember the first time I laid eyes upon you
Jogging along the street thinking about life
I pass by a field of death
An angelic figure of beauty
Gentle strong hands clutched white roses
As tears slid down rosy cheeks
I wish i could stay here
On this plateau of happiness
As time goes by tragedies come
Music of your laughter fades away
As i plummet from the edge again
I remember the first time you said i love you
Soft blanket on the grass under the summers night sky
Our bodies intertwined as i gazed into your eyes
You're breathing made me feel alive
Covered in sweat feelings of passion
You're lips whispered words giving me hopes and dreams
Cast into darkness once again
I reach out my hand with new found strength
I begin to scale this thorny wall
The light shines down as i reach the top
Yet i do not see you there
I remember your last words
Grasping your dry wrinkled hand
We locked eyes for the last time
Lips parted i heard your voice
My only regret is that in my last moments i cause you sorrow
You smile white teeth dimpled cheeks
Alas you have traveled to a place I can never go..
