You're here tonight

You're here tonight

A Poem by Ashes
"

You're here tonight and that's all that matters

"

I could
          right here
right now
             drop…
dead
with the feel of you on my fingertips

Don’t lie
you say to me as we

in and out
easy as onetwothree.
The lie touches your lips
an isolated jewel

Can’t help but think
you’ll fade
with tomorrows sunset
today
but you touch my lips
with fingers slightly calloused
(and you’re here still)

Author's Note

Ashes
Recipe for a cheesy romance poem is as follows:

Add together too much Dashboard confessional+a dozing raccoon wannabe+a warm kitty, stir gently and serve with ice in stemware.
