Lucifer's Gingerbread Man

Lucifer's Gingerbread Man

A Poem by Aventicus

Run, run, as fast as you can.
It's hopeless, dear child.
I'll catch you, for I can.

Dream, dream, till your mind is filled.
It's hopeless, dear child.
Your blood will be spilled.

Laugh, laugh and lighten your heart.
It's hopeless , dear child.
Your pain has yet to start.

Love, love, till you are made whole.
It's hopeless dear child.
For I shall take your soul.

Learn, learn, grow smarter each day.
It's hopeless, dear child.
Your mind will decay.

Shout, shout, for that which seems good.
It's hopeless, dear child.
Your words are my food.

Endure, endure, till you are made stronger.
It's hopeless, dear child.
Your strife shall last longer.

Look, look, for some great truth.
It's hopeless, dear child.
I have deceived you from youth.

Hope, hope, with all your might.
It's hopeless, dear child.
You've lost this fight.

superb!! the sense of inevitability, always so oppressive and present in society captured very well in the guise of a simple work,, Well done my friend!
