An Ember

From the foundation of this world

Weaved from strips of blackened hearts

Sin fused contaminated men of clay

Subversively plotted to extinguish

The flame which cannot burn the flesh

With extreme duplicity and corruption

Relentlessly hunting their radiant prey

They seeded multitudes of splintered dreams

Counterfeit testaments and shallow teachings

Into the psyches of weakened spirits

Then just when hope appeared abandoned

At mankind’s critical moment of adversity

An ember spontaneously rekindled courage

Flickering unfathomable within saved souls

A light which darkness could not overpower
