Keep Your Head

Keep Your Head

A Poem by Phill Oz O'fee

Keep Your Head

Some people

Have their head in a cloud

Filled with unrealistic ideas

Not paying much attention

Others bury

Their head in the sand

Thinking they cannot be seen

And dangers will pass away

Being level-headed

Keeps one sensible and calm

With reason balanced actions

During difficult circumstances

But opposite

Finds the irrational hot-head

An impetuous violent vandal

With nonsensical angry rage

Arrogant individuals

Have the big-head label badge

For their conceitedness persona

Will hurt ears when they’re around

Love struck

It’s said you are head over heals

Intoxicated with passionate ardour

And giddy somersaulting emotions

Best option

Is to stay cool and keep your head

Maintaining a composed equilibrium

For one’s self-control is paramount

I've always learnt something good and simply admirable from you that too in a valid and great way....here am agreeing with each stanza, specially the 4th one!! Pestering people with illogical rage is just more than annoying....and to calm down that rage we end up hearing idiotic abuses sometimes!
The best option here won't cost us even a penny, hoping everyone can try at least...
Thanks for sharingthis...it's a good read☺!

A fine read Phill, very enjoyable! Thoughtfully laid and very smooth. Given the right or wrong circumstance I can find myself in each line. I think we all can. Let cool heads prevail. Many mahalo.

individual differences makes people unique and the way to adjust to different personalities show signs of maturity... i like the writing and actually the second stanza is more describing me..lol

its all about the head eh!? ...the ol' noodle ..:))) very much enjoyed this read sir...we are all those things and more ... i probably tend to be in the clouds a lot ... which helps keep me out of "drama" but also keeps me from seeing things that those more clear eyed can see at first glance .... your poem is multi layered says i ..i can see all kinds of things as i pass smoothly from one verse to the next .. this has a very natural rhythm to it ..social implications and personal as well ... not sure i want to stay off roll-a-coaster riding for the sake of calm ... but equilibrium does have a deep appeal ... glad i caught this one ..peace and joy my friend
