WeA Poem by PhoenixI wrote this poem after I was diagnosed with severe maladaptive daydreaming. We climb up the hawthorn We stare across the field We watch the dancing birds Wishing to be one We climb a little higher We stare a little longer We join the dancing birds Knowing that we’re one We hold on to each other We need to feel the warmth We gaze into our home Begging for some strength We can’t seem to let go We don’t want to feel alone We enter our front door No longer being one We lay down in our coffin We drown in all the nothing We feel around to realise That “we” was only “I” I climb up the hawthorn I stare across the field I watch the dancing birds Wishing to be one I climb a little higher I stare a little longer I join the dancing birds Knowing that I’m one I hold on to my body I need to feel the warmth I gaze into my home Begging for some strength I can’t seem to let go I don’t want to be alone I enter my front door No longer being one I lay down in my coffin I drown in all the nothing I feel around to realise That “I” just wanted “we” © 2021 PhoenixAuthor's Note
