We're People, In Such a Changing World

We're People, In Such a Changing World

A Poem by Pi Cee

We are people
In a world full of problems
And a sea full of dreams
Things are forever changing
Clashing and unhinging.
We are twisted
And cruel
And convinced we all just need one thing
That can make everything better…
We call this thing love
And it’s a lie
All we need is to be true to ourselves
Accept who we are
And live today
And hope for a tomorrow.
Then things can be less complicated
And we can quit with petty hate
And false hopes that break our hearts
We don’t need someone else to be whole
We’re whole with ourselves
Another person can’t hurt us
We only hurt ourselves
Wishing that someone could take our burden
They can’t
So we accuse them
Of our pain being their intention
When we know its not.
We are humans
We have feelings
But nobody owns us
Nobody controls our lives
But us as a person
