Harms Way of a Dream

Harms Way of a Dream

A Poem by piccolabeth

I lie awake in blistered ache,
Avoiding the dreams and the void in between.
I stare at the air with too much care
And hear the whispers beginning to breath -
Luring me closer to eyes wide shut.
The shutters fall and I am stuck.

A planned land of bad crash-landings
Ploughing into me -
Where wolves lurk and wear sheeps' clothing
And rivers of tar stir tar black feelings.
A mind of senseless mind and reason
Is my world, unstuck, with no adhesion.

I sleep with lucklessness and strife,
Feeling the ache and the heartbreak.
I linger in limbo with prayers on my lips
As I see the demons creep from their lairs -
Luring me deeper into their arms.
I'm locked in caress and in harms way.
No waking from the bad dream.
