Sweet Child

Sweet Child

A Poem by piccolabeth

Sweet child,
My thoughts lie alone with you.
Every second of every minute,
Of every hour of every day
Alone with you.

Sweet child,
I paint a portrait of you.
With every stroke of every brush,
Of every paint of every colour
A portrait of you.

Sweet child,
You grow inside of me.
Every sunrise of every morning,
Of every sunset of every night
Inside of me.

Sweet child,
There's only me of two to care.
Every scrape and every cut,
And every Bruins and every strain
Only me to care.

Sweet child,
No life I could give you.
Only tears and only pain,
And only fear and only hate
I could give you.

Sweet child,
My fears like alone for you.
Every doubt and every wonder,
Every care and every year
Alone for you.

Sweet child,
In time I'll nurture you.
In days or in months,
Or in years or decades
I'll nurture you -
I swear.
