A river of stillness

A river of stillness

A Poem by C.D.Ester

Where are we going

what is this illusion

this twisted vision cast by a world led by educated ignoramuses

the seekers of knowledge put down

the cries and the tears that fill the eyes of the children can only tell

Tell the burning fear we seek never to reveal

yet

the island of hope in this vast sea of sameness

causes the bearers of hope to remain nameless as their words of wisdom

pierce them in the side

as they are forced to abide by the rules of the river of ever flowing stillness

is their journey remembered? is their story too true

let only time tell of the breaking of the spell of rigidity

Or are we only meant to be the epidimy of

that stalled river of stillness
