chuckling here.. the falling leaves will flirt unmercifully with us all.. pity not the poor earth.. it's final recompense will come in the richness of the multi-colored mulch.. as autumn's fickle fancy litters it's confetti kisses across the frigid dreamscape..

Hah ha, lovely alliteration in your review, olla. Sounds like the makings of a very good poem. You're absolutely right, it's true. The earth does greatly benefit by all of the fallen leaves she so gladly receives. It only serves to make her more fertile, and more beautiful than she already is.

Thanks very much, Fran. I've been reading up to try and learn different styles of poetry, and the shorter Japanese forms like haiku, senryu and haiban intrigue me. I hoped I wouldn't slaughter the format. :)
