Constellations

Constellations

A Poem by Siveti

Years stretched out across the tombstones

Lavenders of light swaying back and forth

Like a ship lost at sea

I feel like a singer with stage fright

Remembering the constellations in the sky

Now daylight is constantly speaking to me

in other tongues

Is this a play with words?

Or a play with life?

Am I too sensitive to my inevitable downfall?

Plucking each string without any passion

Following the book methodically

Dancing this waltz alone

Under the blazing sunlight

I await the empirical night

The moon’s fullness

The stars and their glory

Fate’s darkness

And like a hummingbird

In it’s odyssey to far offshores

I raise my wings

And fly
