Silent Rain

Silent Rain

A Poem by Melinda McQueen
"

Raining blessings.

"

The silent rain fell,

Almost too fine to be seen.

Its substance seemingly frail

As to the window it attempted to cling.

Longing to know

Its purpose in the world,

It continued its flow,

Giving life its whirl.

Knowing its thoughts,

God let the silent rain pour.

So as it rained another day was brought,

Followed by many more.

Day after day it had its journey

Not knowing its reason or rhyme.

All seemed bleak

And the glory it could not find.

Until one day it landed

On a single petal of a rose.

The wish of the silent rain was granted

As it nourished each rosebud in a grove.

Just like God uses the tiniest rain drops,

He uses His people in the same way.

For it takes so little to stop

And become someone’s silent rain.

I was on the fence about your poem until the very end. Your last two lines bring it together and deliver a powerful and timeless message.

Very beautiful, simple, and sweet poem. I really enjoyed it. The concept was great and so was the flow. I love the metaphor at the end. Great job :)
