I Wanna be Your Beautiful

Honoring God.

Like a bird in the sky,

Soaring through the blue.

Like a sparkle in the eye

That is of  You.

With a heart set on You,

May I be full.

In all I do,

I wanna be Your beautiful. 

I fail You time and time, 

And my head hangs low, 

For I want You to be in this heart of mine;

This love I know. 

When all of life 

Has its pull…

Even when my failures rise,

I wanna be Your beautiful.

Your grace is given 

When my soul is weak.

This life I’m livin’

Is my journey to Thee.

Flow in my heart 

As a river’s endless pool.

Lord, shine into my dark;

I wanna be Your beautiful.

Absolutely beautifully written, I like how you return to the same line when summing up your stanza, it gives the poem its consistency yet the ongoing flow of what you aspire to be just enlightens the line more so each time.
