Stone By Stone

Stone By Stone

A Poem by Melinda McQueen
"

He is the need.

"
Stone by stone
A house rises.
Built to stand alone,
Left to its own vices.

Its walls are strong,
And its foundation formed.
Its structure is meant to last long,
And is not easily alarmed.

The soul is a home
For all you are.
The inner zone
For your internal star.

Desiring to be filled,
It soaks in what it’s given.
Strongly it wills
To be love-driven.

For love is the walls
That holds you up
And catches you when you fall,
Filling your cup.

It needs the love of Christ,
The dwelling of the Holy Ghost.
Then, hopelessness gives way to an eternal house that will rise
Stone by stone.
