Where Love Always Meets

Where Love Always Meets

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

The river flowed
As she stood by the way.
Tossing a single stone,
Her love followed the river’s stay.
Watching as it stayed its course,
She sent it along.
Her broken heart nursed
As the pebble sailed on.
Her memories of long ago
Were now surfing a current
Which would ever flow;
Memories of her gent.
Still warm in her heart
Are days of old.
He would ever be apart
Of a love that would never turn cold.
When no longer she could see
The pebble amiss the small, trickling waves,
She still believed
That love outweighed the heartache.
She knew that it would soon meet the sea,
Ever to be apart of a great big world;
Where love always meets
The guy and girl.
