Blue River

Blue River

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Ripples form,
Movement keeps it flowing.
Though it becomes forlorn
It keeps going.

Sparkling on the surface,
Yet, feels the turmoil within.
Knowing its fate,
Yet, in wonder of its end.

The twists and turns
Often make it nauseous.
It ever yearns;
Blue River, ever cautious.

Knowing its depth,
It feels every motion.
Finding its wealth
In every devotion.

As the sun shines,
It feels inner peace.
Its sparkle is intensified
By the sweet release.

The soul of one
Is likened to her.
As the soul is never undone,
It's meant to glisten like Blue River.
