Stretched Across Time

Stretched Across Time

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Stretched across time

Are memories in this heart of mine.

The cord invisible, yet strong enough

To hold me up.

Time and places

Intersect many laces.

The hearts, the faces,

They all have traces.

Remembering days of old,

Most memories my very own.

Ever in the heart of me,

A living scene.

A balance of pure will

And the ever turning wheel.

Sometimes a thrill,

And sometimes a raw deal.

It’s all one movie,

Playing in my head scene by scene.

The highs and lows

Of times long ago.

The love, the life,

The laughter, the tears cried.

The incredible ride

Stretched across time.
