The Savior's Heart

The Savior's Heart

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Sent from the highest,

In dirty hay did He lay.

In a lowly dwelling did He rest

As hope He gave.

Sleeping where animals fed,

Grace had its start.

The Spirit led
The Savior’s heart.

Throughout His life

Did His heart beat

As love was His guide.

The promise of God did He keep.

It supplied Him with life on earth,

Giving the world a whole new start.

Beautiful from birth--

The Savior’s heart.

Perfect in every way,

The Savior lived a life blameless

So He could take our sins away.

Jesus the Christ came to love and to bless.

With arms stretched out, the world He led,

Accomplishing His divine part.

From that very heart, Christ bled

The Savior’s heart.
