Your Memory

Your Memory

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Like a shadow,

Long and slender.

Your memory follows,

And is there through every bender.

A streak of time

Ever etched in my mind.

A time I find

When I close my eyes.

A roaming sea flows

Wild and free,

Ever it goes,

Into the heart of me.

Though it has been as long as can be,

You still dance

Your memory within me;

A forever stance.

Threaded through

Are memories of old.

Memories of you

My heart holds.
