The Silent Prayer

The Silent Prayer

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

No words to say,

No way to pray…

All you feel inside

Seems to hide.

When you open your mouth

But nothing comes out,

Your heart cries so loud...

The silent prayer is heaven’s sound.

Tears heard by God makes way,

Giving voice to the pain.

A humbled spirit

Before His grace; He hears it.

Sometimes you have to give in

And let the Holy Spirit lend.

Utterances made in the dark…

The silent prayer lights a spark.

At times there are no words

To tell all you’re feeling and more.

Grievances in the heart

Are heard by the Creator of the stars.

Close your eyes

And let all your heart go.

For Someone is there...

In the silent prayer.
