When the Stars Fall

When the Stars Fall

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

When the Stars Fall

Sparkling lights cascade

Downward until they fade.

Bursts of hope in fiery balls,

When the stars fall.

Shooting far and wide

In their quest in a radiant sky.

Dark in contrast,

They shine against an eerie black.

Strength is found

Even as they spiral down.

Winking their eye, their light refuse to stall,

When the stars fall.

Fixed on a purpose unique,

They go in glorious speed.

Finding their way

In the divine space.

Knowing what they are,

Perfectly content in being stars…

Doing their best at all times

To glorify God on High.

The lifter of heads,

He made the black night their bed

So that on His guidance, all may call,

When the stars fall.

each and every morning when I leave my house to walk my dog Dodger in the dark the first thing I do is tilt my head to see the stars ... lately it has been Mars and Saturn shining very very bright in the southern sky ... I cannot imagine a world without stars ... and here you have presented them as your most divine muse ... nice writing X
