I Wanna Go

I Wanna Go

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

I Wanna Go

To smell the flowers,

To look up at the stars,

To be caught in a rain shower.

Down the highway

I wanna go.

In search of a beautiful day.

Wind in my hair,

Sunshine kissing my face.

I wanna go anywhere.

To taste what’s it like

To be free

To do the things I write.

With a laugh in my throat,

And joy in my heart,

I wanna go.

A simple thing,

A tickle in the heart.

A whisper of angel wings.

As life’s passion unfolds,

Take me along.

I wanna go.

A simple poem, with good imagery and a feeling everyone can relate to. You certainly get your message across. To me, if you indulge more with lines like "Sunshine kissing my face" and "A whisper of angel wings" your writing could be even better. Right now, the message gets across just fine. But if the whole thing had lines like those, it would take everything to the next level. Just a thought. Thanks for sharing with us all.
