Holding on to Thy Goodness

Holding on to Thy Goodness

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Holding on to Thy Goodness

Holding on to Thy goodness

Keeps me moving on.

My spirit rests in Thee,

Knowing I don’t have to alone.

Lofty are Thy ways,

Thou are past finding out.

Asking only to trust in Thee,

Which is what faith is all about.

How mighty is my Savior,

Deserving of every ounce of praise.

Though of Thy goodness

Thy creation could never adequately explain.

Holding on to Thy goodness,

For only Thy faithfulness reaches Thy heights.

Worthy to be called more than Glorious,

My Lord, the Divine.

For there are no words describe Thee,

Nor anything to equate Thee

Nothing can touch Thy Name,

Or fully obtain Thee.

When all the world is in an uproar,

And there’s all around stress,

May the world find me

Holding on to Thy goodness.
