Where Would I Go?

Where Would I Go?

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Where Would I Go?

I’ve thought about going far away,

But where would I go?

Perhaps I would go somewhere

I never thought to explore on my own.

If I could, I’d go perch in a tree

Like a bird whose wings got her to safety.

I’d see everything as she does,

And on nature my eyes could feed.

Perhaps I would sit atop a single star

And feast on the beauty I see.

How high would it be up there?

Surely I’d feel so tiny.

What if I could ride a drop of rain?

To be as light as a droplet,

To be at one with a powerful source

I’d soon not forget.

Maybe I would go see

If there is really a man in the  moon.

What would I actually see?

Would its light glow to my view?

I’ve thought about going far away,

But why would I want to

When I’m perfectly happy

Being here with you?

I think it would be fun to ride on a drop of rain...and land on the umbrella of a loved one.
this is such a sweet tribute to Andy...
He is a lucky man.

Awwwww thank you.
There were a lot of beautiful sights and sounds in this poem, but to have something more precious...
now that is the sweetest gift. A fine dedication.
