The Purpose of Two

The Purpose of Two

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

The Purpose of Two

Looking down at her ring,

to her, it meant everything.

She had waited a lifetime

to have him stand by her side.

It had been years since their paths parted,

never imagining it would be how their love story started.

It would be the beginning memory

when telling their story.

Though life seemed to have other plans for the two,

they found their way back to each other through and through.

The purpose in going different ways for so long

has ridden on the wings of angels’ song.

Now, they are together,

with the promise of forever.

For they have taken vows

to love one another in the here and now.

Taking each day with care,

knowing each will be there.

Living day in and day out,

they’re happy with the route

which God led them through…

for His faithfulness is true.

They knew it was His planning,

and in His standing.

Now, they are living their truth…

The Purpose of Two

I loved the complete poem dear Melinda.

The above lines, so good, so wonderful. Could stand alone. When two people become one in life, one in love. We are blessed. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.
